“So… What exactly is it that you do here?”
It seems like every prospective client we talk to has this question in one form or another. So we set aside this section on our website to answer that question in plain English.
Essentially, we are like car mechanics for the inner workings of your business. Other consultants might be concerned with the cosmetic aspects of your business: appearances, brand recognition, advertising campaigns, etc. We are the “gearheads”. We are concerned with performance. Where a car might have horsepower, a business has throughput. Both are a measure of how effectively a process turns pure fuel (working capital, talent) into results.
We help organizations that have started to feel “sluggish” over the years. We are passionate about getting our hands dirty, disassembling processes to examine them individually, and turning your business back into a metaphorical “hot rod”. Our goal is to create a collaborative, open-book process of innovation that starts with ideas from everyone on your team. From there, we work together to build workflows and systems that are more effective, more enjoyable, and more productive for everyone involved.
The result is higher throughput and an invigorating, transparent business structure. So let's “pop the hood” on your business today and discover the opportunities that await!
Our services focus on improving processes while focusing on:
Service Packages
Diagnostic
Something rattling when you drive? Check engine light on?
Much like a car, your business gives you indicators that something isn’t working properly. My old platoon sergeant used to say “Bad news does not get better with time”. Whether it’s a trip to the dentist, the doctor, or the mechanic, waiting usually makes the problem worse.
This package includes:
1-Hour consultation session: We listen to the problems you’re experiencing
Improvement recommendations: We offer some suggestions to get you going in the right direction
Oil Change
You are due for an oil change. Something old needs to be replaced to rejuvenate the engine.
Our ‘Oil Change’ service is for when you have a concept you want to implement or feel you have a good idea where a particular problem area might be. For instance, you have noticed a significant decrease in output in one of your business areas and need to figure out why. We recommend coming in for an ‘oil change’ when you’re in a transitional phase, your key performance indicators are slumping, or you’re sensing shifts in your industry.
This package includes:
3-Hour consultation session: We listen to the problems you’re experiencing and you show us how those processes work
3 Hours of solutioning: We work with key stakeholders in your organization to gather potential fixes to your problems. We also conduct analysis of your processes and research viable solutions
Process diagrams: We provide you process documentation, allowing your team to visualize the flow of your workstreams
Improvement recommendations: We offer some suggestions to get you going in the right direction.
Engine Tune-Up
You have a few things in your engine that require maintenance to get them back in good working order
We sit with you and your team for a week to review and understand your processes as they are today with the people that use them every day. We gather insight from the key stakeholders on what they think works and what doesn’t. We document your process. We’ll analyze key performance indicators. We’ll even provide process diagrams. We recommend a tune up when your business is losing money or chartering a path into new territory. In addition to these transitional periods, getting a tune-up at least once a year is a good practice.
This package includes:
Week-long facilitate Kaizen event: Our experts facilitate a week-long workshop with all the key stakeholders in your organization and discuss improving your processes and the ways your teams collaborate
Process diagrams: We provide you process documentation, allowing your team to visualize the flow of your workstreams
Process analysis: We carefully analyze key performance indicators and other data points you provide about your workstreams. Throughout these phase, we’ll look for opportunities to improve throughput and reduce errors.
Improvement recommendations: We offer some suggestions to get you going in the right direction
